Cashmere Lashes: What They Are and Who Should Stock Them
Cashmere lashes explained: the ultra-soft matte fiber trend, who it suits, and how it compares with PBT.
*General industry knowledge for lash buyers — confirm the exact specs, materials and curls available with the factory when you request a quote.*
Cashmere lashes have moved from a niche request to a standard line item in many extension catalogs. The name is a marketing term, not a fiber origin: it describes a matte, ultra-soft PBT-based fiber engineered to mimic the diffused, powdery look of natural lash hair. For buyers, the useful question is less "what are they?" and more "who sells them well, at what volume, and to which client?"
This guide covers what the fiber actually is, an honest comparison against regular PBT and silk, the specs you need to lock down before ordering, and which buyer profiles get the best return from stocking cashmere.
Cashmere Lashes: What the Material Really Is
Cashmere is a finish and a softness level applied to synthetic lash fiber — normally a PBT-style polymer. On the tray it reads as a deep, flat black rather than a glossy jet black. The fiber is lighter per lash and slightly more flexible than standard matte lashes.
Three properties define a good cashmere lash:
- Matte surface. It does not catch light the way glossier fibers do, which reads as softer and more natural in daylight and on camera.
- Low weight. Lighter fibers put less load on the natural lash, which matters in volume work where you are building multi-lash fans.
- Soft bend. The fiber flexes instead of springing back, so fans hold their shape and the finished set looks less synthetic.
There is no wool, animal hair or real cashmere involved. If a supplier implies otherwise, treat it as a red flag. Mink-style faux fiber is the industry standard, and a factory that handles synthetic fiber only is usually more consistent about what it ships.
Cashmere vs Regular PBT vs Silk
Honest positioning beats a spec sheet when your buyers are comparing trays.
- Regular PBT matte: durable, holds curl well, slightly stiffer, more reflective. Cost-effective for classic sets and clients who want a defined, "finished" look.
- Silk / gloss finish: darker and shinier, more dramatic, photographs with strong definition. Popular for classic and hybrid sets, but can look heavy on clients with fine natural lashes.
- Cashmere: softest hand feel, flattest black, lowest weight. Best suited to volume, mega volume, easy fan and YY-shape work, and to clients with sensitive or fine natural lashes.
Cashmere is not automatically better — it is a different look. If your market prefers a sharp, wet-black finish, a gloss fiber will usually outsell cashmere on repeat purchase.
Specs to Confirm Before You Order Cashmere Lashes
Cashmere fiber is supplied across most extension formats. Get the following in writing on your quote:
- Format: classic, volume, easy fan, YY-shape, or pre-cut DIY clusters.
- Thickness: 0.03 mm, 0.05 mm and 0.07 mm are the common cashmere gauges. Thicker than 0.07 mm is normally a different fiber family.
- Curl: C, D, CC and DD are standard. CC and DD are the usual volume-friendly middle ground.
- Length: 7-15 mm, typically as mixed trays for salon use or single-length trays for kit packing.
- Finish: confirm matte black, not dark brown or natural black.
- Tray and label: brand name, tray colour coding, and curl and length labelling.

Who Should Stock Cashmere Lashes
Cashmere earns its shelf space with a specific buyer.
- Volume artists. The lightweight fiber suits hand-made volume fans. Artists doing volume sets are the core cashmere customer.
- Salons adding a premium tier. If classic sets pay your bills, cashmere at 0.05 mm lets you offer a distinct "soft volume" service with its own finished look.
- DIY and home-kit brands. Pre-cut segment clusters in cashmere solve the "I can't fan" problem. A kit with cashmere clusters, a glue set and a mini compact mirror covers the routine end to end.
- Private-label and OEM brands. Cashmere matte black is now a standard SKU in most extension catalogs. If your line has a gap at the matte, volume-friendly end, this fills it without changing your other fibers.
- Distributors with a trained salon base. Cashmere is an easy upsell where the salon already applies volume. It is a harder sell where nearly all clients get classic sets.
Who should wait: if your customers buy on tray cost alone, a standard matte PBT will usually win. If your market wants high-shine drama, gloss and silk convert better. And if you have no volume-trained artists in your buyer base, cashmere trays can sit — sell the training before the SKU.
Sourcing Cashmere Lashes From a Chinese Factory
China remains the main global source for lash fiber and finished lashes, and Qingdao in Shandong is one of the core clusters. One supplier worth evaluating is Qingdao Allbest Industry Co., Ltd. (brand Qdallbest), based in Qingdao, Shandong, founded in 2016, with a team of 11-50 people.
Their product lines cover:
- False strip lashes: 3D/5D mink-style, DIY pre-cut segment clusters, cat eye styles, coloured lashes.
- Eyelash extensions: classic, volume, easy fan, YY-shape, and matte black handmade cashmere; thicknesses 0.03/0.05/0.07 mm; curls C/D/CC/DD; lengths 7-15 mm in mixed trays.
- DIY lash kits: pre-cut segment clusters, glue sets and home kits, such as the LC228 DIY 10D kit in PBT and the LC227 3D pre-cut cluster.
- Lash packaging: plastic boxes, paper boxes, paper bags, gift bags, with custom logo OEM/ODM.
- Lash tools: tweezers, disposable eyelash extension brushes (50 pcs/pack), double-sided round mini compact mirror.
Typical MOQ is 10 pieces, 10 boxes or 100 boxes depending on the product category — low enough for a sampling order and a small branded run.
Commercial signals from their Alibaba store: 4 years on the platform, a 5.0/5 rating from 22 reviews, a 99.64% response rate, and an average response time within 2 hours. Their listed export mix leans North America 15%, Western Europe 10%, Eastern Europe 10%, South America 10%, Northern Europe 8%, Southern Europe 7% and domestic China 5% — a spread that suggests they are used to mixed-market export paperwork rather than a single destination.
One point to note: they supply mink-style faux fiber only, with no real mink. If you are building a synthetic-only or cruelty-free positioning, confirm that early. If mink-style terminology is still fuzzy for your team, our mink-style lash guide explains how the naming works across the category.
A Practical Buyer Checklist
- Order sample trays in 0.05 mm CC and 0.07 mm D before committing to a full run.
- Test three things: fan-ability, curl retention over a few days on the stand, and black level in daylight.
- Ask for fiber composition and finish in writing.
- Confirm MOQ per format — mixed trays, single-length trays and kit-packed clusters often have different minimums.
- Ask whether the factory can print your logo on trays and outer boxes, and what artwork format they need.
- Compare the sample against your current best-selling matte fiber on the same client, not just on the tray.
Cashmere lashes are a sound addition for volume-led salons, volume-trained artists, DIY kit brands and private-label lines that need a matte volume SKU. They are a poor first order for price-led, classic-only businesses, and they are a fiber choice rather than a certification. Buy a sample, test it on a real set, and let retention and client feedback make the decision.
